Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Recipe
1/2 c margarine 1/4 c shortening 1/2 c sugar 1 c brown sugar,packed 1 ea egg 1/4 c water 1 pk vanilla pudding,Instant 1 t vanilla 1 c flour 1 t salt 1/2 t baking soda 3 c oats 1 c raisins
Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, salt, pudding, and soda; add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats; add raisins. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350.

Oatmeal Walnut Bread 2 2/3 c flour (up to 3) 2 pk yeast 2 t salt 1 1/2 c water 1/3 c molasses 4 t shortening 2/3 c rolled oats 1 1/3 c whole wheat flour 1 ea egg 1 c walnuts,chopped 1 T water 2 T rolled oats
Combine 2 cups flour, yeast, and salt; mix well. In saucepan, heat water, molasses, shortening, and rolled oats until warm. Add to flour. Blend 3 minutes. Stir in walnuts and wheat flour. Add remaining flour to form soft dough. Knead 5 to 8 minutes. Cover. Let rise 30 minutes. Divide dough in 2. Shape each into round loaf. Let rise 40 minutes. Slash top. Brush with egg. Sprinkle with oats if desired. Bake at 375 for 30 to 35 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degees.
Cream together butter & both sugars until light & fluffy. Beat in eggs & vanilla extract. Combine oats, flour, baking soda & salt & add to creamed mixture. Bat until thoroughly blended. Stir in raisins, chocolate chips & walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a greased cook sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden. Cool on wire racks.
