Ok great! Now that you’ve got the “Delicious Vegetarian” guide I can assure you that you are about to learn the simple steps to cooking some of the best, and not to mentions healthiest vegetarian foods in the world.

And whether you are looking to lose some weight, adapt a healthier life style or simply try something new, this guide will help you do just that.

Whatever your reasons are, you have decided to explore the interesting and exciting world of vegetarianism. If you have been a vegetarian for a while or have been researching about vegetarianism, you might already have some idea of what kind of vegetarian you are or want to be. There are four types:

    1. Lacto vegetarians- Their diet consists of no animal products, or eggs, but do include dairy products, such as milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.
    2. Ovo-Vegetarians- Their diet consists of no animal or diary products but will eat eggs.
    3. Lacto-ovo vegetarians- As you may have already guessed; don’t include any animal products in their diet but will include dairy products and eggs.
    4. Vegan- Their diet consists of only plant-based foods, which means it excludes everything that has come from an animal, such as meat, dairy, eggs, honey, etc.

If you haven’t decided what kind of vegetarian you would like to be don’t worry! Not everyone knows exactly what kind they want to be at first (I didn’t), but by experimenting and trying different recipes you will figure out what you need and want or don’t need and want.

    Stuff You Need

You will need the following tools:

    • Heavy-duty bottomed saucepan, preferably large
    • Heavy-duty frying pan, preferably large
    • Heavy-duty wok, preferably large
    • Blender
    • Food processor
    • Chef’s knife
    • Paring knife
    • Coffee grinder
    • Strainer
    • Sieve (small and large)
    • Peeler
    • Box grater
    • Measuring cups
    • Measuring spoons

    Definitions to help you out:

Zesting - To zest a citrus fruit thinly; grate or peel the rind of the fruit using a box grater or a zester.

Puréeing - You can purée soups by using an electric or hand blender. Before puréeing any kind of soup, be sure to let the liquid totally cool off. You can get seriously injured if you blend the soup while hot; the lid can easily pop off of your blender blowing the soup onto you and leaving your kitchen a mess.

Sautéing - To sauté something means to pan-fry something, tossing the ingredients inside a heavy-bottomed skillet or wok over heat.

Grinding - Grinding is usually used on ingredients such as spices, seeds and chillies to make them into a powder like form or a paste. You can use an electric grinder (coffee grinder) or a hand grinder.

Chopping - To chop something means to roughly cube the ingredient into medium sized pieces.

Measuring - When measuring ingredients use a set of measuring cups for best results to ensure that you get the correct amount/volume.

    Ingredients…

While going through the recipes you will notice that most of the ingredients are used a lot to insure a healthy, balanced diet. These ingredients usually contain protein, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and some fats. There are different foods you can get these from; pasta, grains, legumes, spices and herbs, oils, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, seeds, vinegars, mustards and other sauces.
